SpaceChain Weekly Report (April 8 to 14)

SpaceChain expands to the UK, the co-founders attend the 35th Space Symposium and the new version of the space node telemetry data acquisition module is finished.

ANNOUNCEMENT

SpaceChain opens operation in the UK to explore opportunities in Europe’s commercial space ecosystem. “We are excited to explore the UK space ecosystem & bring the next generation of institutional grade blockchain services to existing and future satellite infrastructure,” said COO Nick Trudgen, who will also be leading the SpaceChain UK entity.

SpaceChain has already partnered with several UK-based companies, including: Open Cosmos, a microsatellite platform designed to manage the process of bringing satellite services to businesses; NanoAvionics, a nanosatellite mission integrator that delivers new generation satellite buses and propulsion systems; and Alba Orbital, a pioneer in the development of PocketQube satellites.

COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES

· From April 8 to 11, 2019, co-founders Zee Zheng and Jeff Garzik attended the 35th Space Symposium at Colorado Springs, US. A premier event for global space professionals, the symposium provides a unique opportunity to examine space issues from multiple perspectives, to promote dialogue and to focus attention to critical space issues.

More importantly, attendees include delegates from all sectors of the space community from multiple spacefaring nations including space agencies, commercial space business, cyber security organizations, educational institutions, private space travel providers, military and the government.

As SpaceChain continues building our open-source blockchain-based satellite network and promoting international collaboration in the space industry, this event offers the team the perfect opportunity to network with the movers and shakers in the industry, engage with some of the most brilliant minds, meet potential partners and gain insights on the latest space issues.

TECHNICAL PROGRESS

· Blockchain node in space

The team has completed the development of the new version space node telemetry data acquisition module. According to the previous telemetry data collection table, the acquisition module collects the key data information of the load board every 500 ms and stores it in the specified file. When the OBC requests load telemetry data, the on-board software will send the latest telemetry data to the OBC via the CAN bus.
