Announcement

The SpaceChain Ethereum hardware has been installed on the International Space Station

On 3 June 2021, SpaceChain sent an Ethereum blockchain-enabled into space aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. After several months, the Ethereum blockchain hardware multisig wallet technology has finally been installed on the International Space Station (ISS) by a crew member on 14 August 2021. Now, SpaceChain can finally begin the testing.

Ethereum is currently one of the mainstream public blockchains in the world. This is the first demonstration of Ethereum hardware on the ISS.

With Ethereum’s smart contract platform running in outer space, it enables SpaceChain to fortify blockchain applications and transactions with enhanced security and immutability, and allows more users and developers to get involved with our technology.

SpaceChain partners Spire Global to demonstrate the feasibility of blockchain technology computation in space and resolve land-based centralized infrastructure issues

SpaceChain recently signed a partnership with Spire Global, leading global provider of space-based data, analytics, and space services. Together, the two companies will be launching a mission to demonstrate the feasibility of blockchain technology computation in space and resolve land-based centralized infrastructure issues.

Spire will utilize its “SABERTOOTH” supercomputing module, the company’s fastest and most power-efficient embedded AI computing device, to fulfill a two-part mission with SpaceChain. Initially, Spire will conduct an on-orbit upload of SpaceChain’s software to an existing satellite, before further building out SpaceChain’s capabilities via a payload on a new satellite, expected to be launched later this year.
